What we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This policy explains what personal information BodyCamera.ae collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
BodyCamera.ae is a supplier of body-worn cameras, vehicle camera systems, docking hardware and evidence management software in the United Arab Emirates.
For the purposes of UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, we act as the controller of the personal data described below.
This policy covers the pages published at bodycamera.ae. It does not cover any camera, docking station or evidence management system you may buy from us and then operate yourself. When you run that equipment, you decide what is recorded, who can see it and how long it is kept, so you are the controller of that footage and this policy does not apply to it. Section 9 explains where the line falls.
When you complete an enquiry or demonstration request form, we receive the name, email address, telephone number, organisation and message you type into it. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp instead, we receive whatever you choose to send, including any attachment such as a tender document or specification.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs for every request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and the browser and operating system reported by your device. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
We also use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used: which pages are opened, roughly how long visitors stay, and whether they arrived from a search engine, a link or a direct visit. It reports on visits in aggregate and we do not use it to identify individual people. Section 11 covers the cookies it sets and how to opt out.
This website does not take payments, so we never receive card or bank details through it. We do not ask for identity documents, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your details for automated decision-making or profiling.
We send marketing email only to people who have asked for it or who have enquired about a purchase. Every marketing message carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing info@bodycamera.ae. Stopping marketing does not stop replies to an enquiry you have made or messages about an order in progress.
We share personal data only where it is needed to answer you or fulfil an order:

Our website and email are hosted on infrastructure that may sit outside the United Arab Emirates. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with UAE data protection law, including through the contractual terms we hold with our suppliers.
When a retention period ends we delete the data or remove the details that identify you.
This is the point most often misunderstood, so it is worth stating plainly. We do not have access to recordings made on cameras you own and operate. We do not hold, review, copy or store your footage, and we cannot retrieve it for you. Where we supply evidence management software, it is deployed for your organisation to administer, and your own retention and access rules govern what happens inside it. Deciding what may lawfully be recorded, informing the people being recorded, and responding to their requests are all your responsibility as the operator.

Write to info@bodycamera.ae and we will respond within the period required by law. We may need to verify who you are first. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the competent UAE data protection authority.
We keep cookie use to a minimum. This site sets cookies that are necessary for it to work, including page caching so pages load quickly and, if you submit a form, a short-lived security token.
Beyond those, the only cookies we set are for Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. It records a randomly generated identifier for your browser rather than your name. Google uses the IP address your browser sends to work out an approximate location, and that address is not stored in the reports available to us.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave unexpectedly. To opt out of Google Analytics on its own, without changing anything else, you can install Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
We do not run advertising, remarketing or social media tracking tags on this site. If that changes, this section will be updated before those tags go live.
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to enquiry data is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and the date below. Where a change materially affects you, we will take reasonable steps to tell you directly.
