Road collisions, height and water rescue, lift releases and standby duties. The camera goes on the crew member working in the open and stays with them for the call.

Most of a duty needs no recording at all. The calls that do are the ones that become an assault, a complaint about care, or a court date months later.

An inspector records the visit, the notice and the conversation that follows it. Where the visit carries enforcement powers, that recording becomes evidence.

Sized by how many cameras come back at changeover, not by how many names are on the roster. A watch takes cameras off the rack and returns them to it.

The limits

What these cameras are not for

Four jobs that need equipment we do not sell. Better said now than after an order.

Inside a burning building

The cameras we supply are rated to +60 °C. A compartment fire runs far past that. Interior attack needs a purpose-built heat-resistant unit.

Seeing through smoke

A body camera records what the eye sees. Finding a casualty in smoke is a thermal imaging camera's job, and that is not a product we supply.

Breathing apparatus masks

The helmet mount fits a duty or rescue helmet. It is not a mount for a BA mask, or for a structural fire helmet with a visor and neck flap.

A clinical record

Footage records the encounter. It is not an observation, it does not belong in patient notes on its own, and it carries storage duties a written note does not.

Common questions

The ones we get asked most.

Do firefighters wear body cameras?

In a growing number of services, yes. They are used on safety inspections, at incident command and for investigation afterwards, rather than inside a fire.

Do paramedics wear body cameras?

Ambulance services are usually the first to adopt them, mainly to document assaults on crews and to settle complaints about care.

Can a body camera be worn inside a burning building?

No. The range we supply is rated to +60 degrees Celsius and a compartment fire runs far past it. Interior attack needs purpose-built equipment we do not sell.

How long does a camera last on a duty?

Between 9 and 13 hours of recording on one charge, depending on the model. The helmet unit reaches the top of that range on its second cell.

Where does ambulance footage have to be stored?

In the country it was recorded in, on the safe reading. Every deployment we build puts the server on your own hardware or on hosting inside your country.

Do we need live streaming, or is offline enough?

Live earns its cost where the operations room acts while a call is running. Offline removes a monthly data line per camera. Both end up on the same server.
