Who we supply

Who buys body cameras in Abu Dhabi

The sectors we are asked for most across the emirate.

01

Police and law enforcement

Patrol, traffic and custody. Abu Dhabi Police have operated body cameras on officers since a two-year pilot. The questions we get here are practical ones: fleet size, retention, and who signs off on an export.

02

Commercial security

Guarding contracts across malls, towers and compounds on Abu Dhabi Island and Al Reem. Cameras get specified per post rather than per guard, because a post is covered around the clock and the camera changes hands at handover.

03

Ports, logistics and fleet

Khalifa Port, Zayed Port and the airport cargo estates run mixed fleets. Vehicle recorders and body-worn cameras land on one server, and an incident gets reconstructed across both.

04

Construction, utilities and industrial

Crews at Mussafah, ICAD and out through Al Dhafra work in dust and heat that settle the specification long before resolution does.

05

Inspections and field services

Inspectors covering Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain and Al Dhafra usually carry one camera each and dock it back at the depot, which puts dock capacity on the crew rota.

06

Emergency services

Rescue and ambulance crews mount on the helmet more often than the chest, which narrows the model list quickly.

What we supply

The options

Which camera fits the work

Start with what has to happen while an incident is still running.

Offline body camera

For crews that begin and end at the same depot, where nobody has to watch in real time.

  • No SIM, so nothing per operator on the monthly bill
  • Everything moves across when the camera is docked, or over depot Wi-Fi
  • Cheapest to run once the fleet passes a few dozen units

4G live streaming

For patrol and response work, where a supervisor may need to see an incident while it is still running.

  • Video and position reach the control room while the call is live
  • Push to talk on the same device as the camera, on some models
  • A SIM per camera, so data sits on the monthly bill

5G and 4K capture

For specialist work, and for footage that may be enlarged or challenged months later.

  • 4K capture, so a crop into the frame still identifies
  • A live feed over 5G, with the full-quality file held back for the dock
  • Storage per operator is the highest of the three

Whichever you pick, the footage lands on your own video infrastructure. Tell us how the shifts run and we will work out the capacity you actually need.

What the conditions ask

Specifying for Abu Dhabi conditions

The figures that decide which models are still on the list here.

Heat is the first filter

Published operating ceilings run from +40 to +60 degrees Celsius across the nine body cameras. The model rated to +40 is the one an Abu Dhabi summer finds first.

Dust and water ingress

Sealing runs from IP54 to IP68 depending on the model, and most publish a drop test alongside it.

A full shift on one charge

Nine to twelve hours across the range, and thirteen on the helmet unit, which carries a detachable second cell. Swappable models go past their figure without returning to a dock.

Enough detail to identify

Recording runs from 720p up to 4K. Identification at conversational distance is met at 1080p on every model we supply.

Storage follows retention

Resolution multiplies against how long you keep footage, and that pairing sizes the server rather than the camera.

Where it stops

No model in this range carries a hazardous-area certification. A classified zone needs a certified device, and none of these is one.

Tell us where the camera actually works through the day and we will say which models hold up.

After the camera

Where the footage lives

What sits behind the camera, and who controls each part.

01A body camera being returned to its docking station at the end of a shift

Docking station

Cameras go into the rack when the shift ends. The dock charges them and moves the recordings across at the same time, so nothing is carried off by hand.

02Recordings being searched on the server that stores them

Video infrastructure

Recordings land on a server you own, in your own rack or a data centre you pick. Capacity follows the retention rule.

03Footage, notes and case details gathered into one evidence record

Evidence software

One place to search every recording, whichever camera made it. Permissions decide who can open, share or export a clip, and the schedule removes it at expiry.

Evidence management

The server stays under your control, so recordings do not leave the jurisdiction that collected them. How evidence management works.

From enquiry to fleet

How an Abu Dhabi deployment runs

How the work runs, and what we need from you to start it.

01

You send the requirement

Shift pattern, where the cameras are worn, fleet size and who has to accept the footage. A tender pack is ideal; a short email is enough to start.

02

We specify against it

A written configuration with the reasoning behind it. Where two models genuinely do the same job we say that instead of picking one.

03

Demonstration on your site

Hardware in your hands, at the Abu Dhabi site it has to survive. A mounting point tells you more in ten minutes than a datasheet does.

04

Delivery, configuration and aftercare

Docking and storage set up, operators trained on the handling rules, then spares and repairs held against the fleet for its working life.

Common questions

The ones Abu Dhabi buyers ask first.

Do you supply body cameras in Abu Dhabi?

Yes. We are based on Baniyas Road in Deira, Dubai, and supply and support deployments across Abu Dhabi and the rest of the GCC. There is no Abu Dhabi shopfront, so demonstrations, delivery and site visits are arranged from Dubai.

What do Abu Dhabi Police require of a body camera?

Abu Dhabi Police published rules in January 2025 covering how cameras are used on duty, including that the device is worn in clear sight and that people are told when recording starts. The detail is set out in full in our guide to the rules.

Are body cameras legal to use in the UAE?

Yes. No UAE law prohibits owning or issuing a body camera. A deployment stands or falls on its policy rather than its hardware: when the camera runs, who is told, and who can open the footage afterwards.

Do you sell single units or to individuals?

We supply organisations. The range is built around a system: cameras with docks or recorders behind them, a server, and evidence management on top. A single camera without the rest of it does not give a buyer what these products are for. Pilots are a different matter, and we run them regularly at small volumes.

How much does a body camera system cost in Abu Dhabi?

We do not publish prices. A camera is a line in a system that also contains docks or recorders, a server, licences, storage sized to a retention rule, installation and support, and the ratios between those change completely between a twenty-camera pilot and a fleet-wide rollout. Send us the shift pattern or the vehicle list and the retention obligation and we will work a real figure back from them.

Which brands do you supply?

Hytera, Motorola and Xignal, which is the Recoda range. Nine body camera models and fourteen vehicle units across dash cameras, mobile DVRs and NVRs, and PTZ heads, all listed with full specifications and comparison tables.
